ST. GEORGE, UT – what to do & eat

We spent Labor Day weekend in St. George with Preston’s family (not pictured, obviously). We had a lot of fun relaxing by the pool and getting to ride our motorcycles on some fun trails (my first time ever “real” riding and we were lucky to be with our in-laws so they could watch Myla while we rode).

St. George is a pretty small city but there is really a lot to do, especially if you’re willing to travel a little to the surrounding National Parks. We go to Zion’s almost every time we go, but we didn’t go this time due to the HUGE crowds that go into the park on holiday weekends.

Like I said, there is seriously SO much to do and so many great places to eat so I’m just going to highlight a few of things things we did and a couple of the places that we ate (Irmita’s is my favorite thing about St. George).

+++++TO DO+++++

TuachanTuacahn is a theatre arts center located in the mouth of Padre Canyon, adjacent to Snow Canyon State Park, in the city of Ivins. Their stage is located outside and the red cliffs make for a killer backdrop! They have a lot of performances so you should find out if they have any performances going while you’re visiting! We saw Peter Pan this year and it was great!

+Wondering how we watched the play with a baby?

They have a day care!!!! Yes, can you believe it? We reserved a spot for Myla ahead of time and all you do is arrive 15 minutes early to get your baby checked in. We dropped her off, left her with everything she needed (her binky, blanket, bottle, formula, and diapers), they asked us when she’d be ready to eat and how much, and they also gave us a badge to pick her up again and to scan to see the cameras in the day care. It’s awesome, if you were super worried you could go back out to the main lobby and scan to see the cameras and find your baby on the screen (we toughed it out and only checked in on her during intermission). If they have any “problems” at all with your baby they text you and let you know so that you can come and help or take your baby if they need you to. Aside from Myla spitting up all over one of the workers, she did awesome and was a happy smiley girl, as usual.

Warner Valley – If you have motorcycles like we do, this was a great alternative place to ride from Sand Hollow State Park. Their was hardly anyone their, there wasn’t as much sand (for a beginner rider like myself) and still numerous trails to ride. It was a blast and not to far away from where we stayed.

+++++TO EAT+++++

Irmita’s – We seriously can’t go to St. George without eating at Irmita’s at least two or three times! They have great customer service and delicious food! They really have the most delicious street tacos and I have fallen in love more recently with their quesadillas!!!

Inn on The Cliff – A little more fancy and expensive but they have great food and even better views overlooking the whole city!
